The quality of the environment is considered a determining factor in production.

This concept of respect for the environment is the leitmotif of the Rizzi winery's corporate philosophy, which has always followed and respected the objectives set by EEC Regulation 2078/92 regarding:

- promote the use of sustainable agricultural production methods that reduce the polluting effects of agriculture

- promote forms of agricultural land management compatible with the protection and improvement of the environment, natural space, landscape, natural resources, soil, as well as genetic diversity

The Rizzi winery does not use weed control for mowing the grass, it does not use chemical fertilizers or systemic fungicides.

Pheromone bracelets are used as a sexual confusion practice for the abolition of insecticides.

That of the Rizzi winery is a philosophy of action, based on respect for the earth and the use of "clean" energy, in order to respond to various environmental emergencies (climate change, global warming, desertification, drought, increased energy consumption,. ..) and the improvement of the natural ecosystem, with an eye to the protection of groundwater and people's health.

"It is little compared to the world panorama - explains Ernesto Dellapiana - but it is a small grain of mustard thrown into the earth, which can sprout and become a large tree..."


SOLAR ENERGY

There is an important date that represents a historic milestone for the Rizzi winery: November 9, 2006.

On this day, a new photovoltaic system for the production of electricity went into operation. The system, positioned on the roofs of the farmhouse and on the terrace above the cellar, has an installed power of 19.80 kW.

At the time of activation, this photovoltaic plant is one of the largest plants for the production of solar electricity for non-residential use, but aimed at wine production installed in Italy and the largest in Piedmont.

The system makes it possible to satisfy over 90% of the energy needs of the cellar and offices, and of all the machinery in the cellar, including the air conditioning system of the premises.

The photovoltaic system of the Rizzi winery has a total of 117 panels installed, on a surface of 149 m2, with a power of each panel equal to 170 W.

The owner of the Rizzi winery, Ernesto Dellapiana, is convinced that he has done well, and now the results are higher than expected: "I believe that the investment is positive and that the energy future passes through respect for the environment and the production of electricity and heat from renewable sources and without the emission of harmful gases into the atmosphere".

Ernesto Dellapiana explains: "The quality of the environment is considered a determining factor in production.

For this reason the RIZZI company was among the first wineries in Italy to adopt the choice of photovoltaics for the production of electricity by exploiting the sun's rays, a clean environment and a renewable source”.

This concept of respect for the environment is to a certain extent the leitmotif of our corporate philosophy:

And he specifies that his is "a philosophy of action, based on respect for the earth and on the use of "clean" energy, to respond to various environmental emergencies, but above all to the urgency of obtaining energy from renewable and non-polluting sources".
