DYNAMISM, QUALITY AND KNOWLEDGE: SLOWINE TELLS RIZZI

Slowine, Italy's best-selling wine guide, is once again dedicated to Cantina Rizzi. That's how:

LIFE

Frontman and frontwoman of this company, Enrico and Jole Dellapiana (no, not their surname Rizzi) brother and sister, are the jovial and prepared protagonists who lead the reality founded by their father Ernesto about forty years ago. Today Rizzi has the spotlight on him, and rightly, thanks to the dynamism of recent times and to a quality of wines that harvest after harvest becomes more convincing, thanks to a morphological knowledge of the territory that has few equals.

VINEYARDS

There are more than 40 hectares of vineyards, but not all grapes are vinified. The vineyards are scattered in the mentions Rizzi, Nervo, Pajorè, Manzola, Giacone and, from 2017, also in the Bricco di Neive, where a 3.3-hectare plot was purchased in which in the autumn of 2019 a laying is planned new Nebbiolo plant. As can be seen from the name of the company, the Rizzi hill is the one that houses the cellar.

WINES

The wide Rizzi range is distinguished by territorial precision and expressiveness. This year we were thrilled by the Barbaresco Rizzi Boito Ris. 2014 (2,600 bt - 50 €): in the face of the much-despised vintage, it has an articulated, balsamic and elegant olfactory profile and a juicy, almost skeletal mouth in its whispered subtlety, which however is not reduced to lack of matter and personality, indeed . The Barbaresco Pajorè 2016 (5.600 bt - € 38) is also delicious, spicy and mineral, powerful and with a saline depth. The Barbaresco Nervo 2016 (5.600 bt - € 38) is more austere and equally gritty. The Barbaresco Rizzi 2016 (25,000 bt - € 26) has floral elegance, a crunchy fruit and a compact mouth. Among the best of the denomination the Alta Langa Pas Dosè 2014 (3.000 bt - 24 €). Vertical the Langhe Chardonnay 2018 (5,500 bt - 11 €)
