“BAROLO E BARBARESCO SET TO SHINE” BY TOM HYLAND

The article on Wine-Searcher that talks about these important Piedmont wines, citing the Barbaresco Pajore ’2016 of the Rizzi winery

A freelance writer, educator and photographer specializing in Italian wines, Tom Hyland has written articles on Piedmont for various authoritative specialized publications, including "Decanter" and "Quarterly Review of Wines" and has lectured on wine in numerous commercial events in the United States, in addition to being the author of the book "Beyond Barolo and Brunello: Italy's Most Distinctive Wines" and of the publication entitled "The Wine of Piedmont".

This allowed him to receive, in 2015, the "recognition" of Ambassador of the Wines of Piedmont in the United States by the consortium of promotion "The Wines of Piedmont" and became professor of Wine Tasting Experience® in U.S.A.

This time he writes for Wine-Searcher, in an article dedicated to two great wines of Piedmont, Barolo and Barbaresco.

Start talking about Barolo:

“Over the next few months, the 2015 Barolos will be released, and given that this was not a year that resulted in powerful wines, many observers will pass these wines off as ordinary – if there is such a thing as an ordinary Barolo”

Thanks in fact to the favorable climatic conditions, the 2015 vintage of Barolo is considered a vintage "very good and with a lot of character".

Tom Hyland then goes on to talk about Barbaresco 2016: "As for Barbaresco, 2016 is the new vintage, and it's surprising".

The article then contains the words of Enrico Dellapiana, Owner and Winemaker of the Rizzi Winery in Treiso, who explains:

"we are very enthused about 2016, perhaps the most enthused in the last several years. When you taste a 2016 Barbaresco, you understand that it is good in its youth and it will also be good in the future."

And it is always Tom Hyland, in his list of the best Barbaresco of 2016, to enter Barbaresco Pajore ’2016, with this description:

Fresh cherry, strawberry and cocoa powder aromas. Lovely varietal purity, excellent persistence and graceful tannins. 10-12 years.
